Statement

My recent works have been inspired by nature and it’s calm beauty. During the course of one’s day many things go unnoticed.

If we can learn to stop and tune into the quiet world around us, it settles and grounds us. Walking through the reservation becomes a new and visceral experience if you stop to notice the world around you; the sounds, the light coming through the trees, the quiet strength of the trees swaying in the wind.

While painting I try to capture that moment of stillness and reflect it into my work. I try not to over plan the process but let the intuitive happen at times moving into abstraction then a mark or vertical line becomes a tree and a landscapes forms.
